Jul 09 Experience runDisney in Style
runDisney race weekends continue to be a popular reason to visit the parks. With nine weekends to choose from, your family can head to Walt Disney World® Resort, Disneyland® Resort or even Disneyland® Paris and include a little fitness with your vacation! After running all those magical miles, you may wish to splurge on your race weekend and spend it in style. Here are some great ways to add a little luxury to your runDisney race experience.
During your race weekend, take advantage of the club level rooms at the deluxe resorts on property. Along with that extra special feeling of staying in an exclusive area of the resort, you also have access to the lounge, which includes continental breakfast, afternoon snacks and beverages, evening appetizers and wine, and after-dinner cordials and dessert.
Even better, the lounge often offers pre-race food such as bananas, bagels, water and more on race mornings! The Cast Members are also available to help with last minute dining reservations or spa treatments.
If you will be participating in the Walt Disney World Half Marathon or Walt Disney World Marathon in January or the Princess Half Marathon in February, then adding Race Retreat may be the added luxury you are looking for! Before and after your race you have access to a private climate-controlled tent that includes food, beverages, bag check, restrooms, stretching area and more. There will even be a visit from one of your favorite characters for fun photo opportunities!
After your event, your legs may be in need of a little TLC. A fantastic way to recover is to enjoy a spa treatment at the Senses Spa! Located at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa or Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa (or at the Mandara Spa at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel® &Spa), you can enjoy a massage that is sure to leave you relaxed. If your legs aren’t ready for a massage, other options include facials, body therapies, along with manicures and pedicures.
Runner’s World VIP
For the hardcore runners wanting to take on the Dopey Challenge in January, the Runner’s World VIP program may be for you. This ultimate experience includes a training plan designed by Coach Budd, direct online access to Runner’s World experts, membership to a personal trainer, early access to the Health & Fitness Expo, a pre-course strategy session, a Welcome Party with Runner’s World editors, access to the Race Retreat, an exclusive pre-race walkout to the corrals and more!
Completing any runDisney race is cause for celebration. If you are ready to celebrate in style, a fireworks cruise is a grand option as you can xperience Wishes Nighttime Spectacular or IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth from a whole new perspective! If your family is wanting to explore the parks, a Disney VIP Tour will customize your time in the parks and offer expedited access to your favorite attractions. If dining is on the top of your list, enjoy one of the many signature restaurants including Victoria and Albert’s, Napa Rose, California Grill and more.
